Básica was designed during the late 80's as a warmer alternative to the international trends of the time with metal constructions and halogen lamps. The lamp had a modern and challenging aesthetic consisting of natural materials such as wood, cardboard, or ribbon. Básica became one of Santa & Cole's most important lamps as it led to international expansion, which set a new trend in Europe. Básica Mínima is the pocket edition of the Básica lamp.
